JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Head Baseball Coach, the Assistant Baseball Coach / Athletic Department Assistant provides support in all aspects of the baseball program. This position will work with pitchers and focus on development of the pitching staff. In addition, the position provides support and assistance in facility maintenance, including all aspects of the college’s baseball and softball fields. This position will also assist in game management for other college athletics programs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Baseball Assistant Coach (pitching)
<ul>
<li>Be available for all team practices, games and functions.</li>
<li>Familiarity with up to date pitching programs, methods, analytics and instruction.</li>
<li>Assist in organizing and running team practices.</li>
<li>Operate team social media accounts.</li>
<li>Operate all team technology (live stream, Synergy, video, radar gun, etc.).</li>
<li>Monitor team strengthening and conditioning exercises.</li>
<li>Prepare baseball scouting reports.</li>
<li>Assist in fundraising efforts.</li>
<li>Assist in the student athletic recruitment process.</li>
<li>Assist in baseball and softball facility maintenance.</li>

POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction in an equitable environment.

SUMMARY
The part-time&nbsp;Industrial Maintenance and Automation Instructor shall coordinate with the full-time program faculty and shall be directly responsible to the institution administration for effective performance of assigned responsibilities and duties. The instructor shall observe rules, policies, and regulations set forth by the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Shelbyville (TCAT), Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR), and the Council of Occupational Education (COE); and shall strive to promote and elevate the mission and philosophy of occupational education within the areas served. They shall keep abreast of industry standards and techniques, reviewing periodicals and industry magazines commensurate to the course being taught.&nbsp; The instructor shall follow and maintain a complete progressive course of study, lesson plans, assignments, and instructional aides to meet educational requirements and industry standards. They shall also oversee student conduct, motivation, safety, discipline, and appearance, addressing issues as they arise.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

SUMMARY
The Industrial Maintenance and Automation Instructor shall be directly responsible to the institution administration for effective performance of assigned responsibilities and duties. The instructor shall observe rules, policies, and regulations set forth by the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Shelbyville (TCAT), Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR), and the Council of Occupational Education (COE); and shall strive to promote and elevate the mission and philosophy of occupational education within the areas served. They shall keep abreast of industry standards and techniques by visiting industry partners, continuing education, and reviewing periodicals and industrial magazines commensurate to the course being taught.&nbsp; The instructor shall develop and maintain a complete progressive course of study, lesson plans, assignments, and instructional aides to meet educational requirements and industry standards. They shall also oversee student conduct, motivation, safety, discipline, and appearance, addressing issues as they arise. The instructor shall build and cultivate partnering relationships with schools, business, and industry partners to promote the ideals of occupational education and implement an effective placement program for students.&nbsp;
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

RESPONSIBILITIES

<li>Conduct follow-up on employment of graduates and maintain follow-up records on former students.</li>
<li>Be responsible for and maintain inventory, control, and light repair of all equipment, tools, and supplies assigned to the department’s classroom and lab. Report loss or damage immediately.</li>
<li>Be responsible for and maintain program budget to coordinate the need for equipment, tools, and supplies; make recommendations for and submit Purchase Orders for items needed for the program.</li>

Title: Criminal Justice Instructor - Evening Shift
Campus Location: Walters State Community College Niswonger Campus (Employees are assigned to a “home” location but may occasionally or regularly be required to work at other WSCC locations.)
Job Purpose:&nbsp;The purpose of this position is to supervise, coordinate, develop curriculum, and instruct classes in the program at the Regional Law Enforcement Training Academy/Criminal Justice Degree Program, primarily during the evening hours between 2 pm and 10 pm. Work hours and location may vary depending on the academy training session. Serves as a liaison with state and regional public safety personnel, focusing on quality academic programming, student success, instructor evaluations, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Provides public safety training, conducts student performance evaluations, student advising, student recruiting, and participates in college committees. The incumbent is also responsible for attending training conferences such as the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association (ILEETA), Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC), Association of Law Enforcement Response Trainers (ALERT), Tennessee P.O.S.T. Commission, Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Officers Association (TLETOA) and other recognized conferences.
Essential Job Functions:
<ul>
<li>As the Instructor of Criminal Justice Divisional Activities, the incumbent assists with developing divisional goals and objectives, ensuring they align and support the College goals and objectives. Provides leadership for RLETA by following TN POST guidelines in a supervisory role for cadets. Participates in developing and recommending policies, procedures, and needs for custodial care and maintenance of physical facilities for instructing, work, or study within the Division. Assist with developing in-service offerings, recruiting instructors, accommodating the hosting of outside groups, and providing in-service training. Provides public safety training for the regional area. Assist the Director and Division Dean in preparing fiscal year budget requests.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Responsible for overseeing and facilitating academic courses each semester and developing the semester class schedule for recommended courses offered in the Criminal Justice Program. Ensures continuous program and instructional assessments are carried out through observation and evaluation in all delivery modes. Responsible for compiling, interpreting, and sharing information provided through instructional research with the Division. Manages, facilitates, and oversees training for firearms, driving, physical fitness, and defense tactics.</li>
<li>Contributes to new courses and programs of study, recommends modifying or discontinuing courses or programs of study. Responsible for attendance at regional and national professional organization meetings. Assist the Counseling Office in advising students with general or special problems related to the department. Responsible for participating in one college-wide graduation, four program graduations, and one Advisory Board meeting.</li>
<li>Recommends to the Director/Dean the need for additional faculty to instruct an increased course load. Defines staff requirements by identifying the qualifications and skills necessary for implementing departmental programs. Participates in recruiting full-time and part-time faculty by reviewing credentials, interviewing applicants, and evaluating instruction.&nbsp;</li>

POSITION SUMMARY This position is a nine-month faculty position responsible for preparing and delivering quality instruction in Music in an equitable environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach courses via on-ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned, predominantly Introduction to Music (Music Appreciation) courses, and others that may be assigned. This position will be based on the White Bridge Road campus with teaching assignments on all Davidson County campuses and prison sites. Additional teaching assignments are possible at any campus or site at which NSCC instruction takes place. Regularly check NSCC email and departmental mailbox. Respond to emails/messages within 24 hours, except on the weekend. Complete all required reports such as attendance, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions; administer and return questionnaires and student outcome assessments by the required deadlines.
Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar. Provide academic advising to students with an emphasis on retention and success. Remain current in the teaching area(s) through appropriate professional development activities. Actively participate on committees within the Department of Music, the School of Arts and Humanities, and college-wide committees. Collaborate in building and maintaining relationships within and beyond the institution. Engage in departmental institutional effectiveness activities. Comply with all college and TBR policies and guidelines. May perform other duties as assigned by the Academic Dean.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree or higher in Music, Applied Music, Music Performance, Music History, Music Literature, Musicology, or Ethnomusicology, OR
Master’s degree or higher in another discipline (including Music Education) and at least 18 graduate semester hours in Music, Applied Music, Music Performance, Music Literature, Music History, Music Literature, Musicology, or Ethnomusicology.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Documented experience teaching at the college level.
Demonstrated commitment to equity and accessibility.
Demonstrated understanding of the community college mission and needs of the student population.
Documented experience with ensemble direction (choir, band, orchestra, etc.) at the college level.
Documented experience teaching Introduction to Music / Music Appreciation at the collegiate level.
Documented experience teaching Music Theory and Aural Skills at the college level.
Documented experience teaching Music courses in a variety of modalities including in-person, hybrid, virtual, and asynchronously online.
Demonstrated experience incorporating current technologies into teaching.
Terminal degree in Music, Applied Music, Music Performance, Music History, Music Literature, Musicology, or Ethnomusicology
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge of and experience teaching using a variety of instructional delivery modes. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively and collaboratively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and relevant instructional technologies.
