POSITION SUMMARY This position is a nine-month faculty position responsible for preparing and delivering quality instruction in History in an equitable environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach courses via on-ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned. This position will be based on the White Bridge Road campus with teaching assignments primarily at the White Bridge. Additional teaching assignments are possible at any campus or site at which NSCC instruction takes place. Within a minimum workweek of 37.5 hours, faculty are expected to teach a minimum of 15 hours and hold in-person and virtual office hours as defined in College Policy. Job Title: Instructor of Engineering Technology

Job Purpose:&nbsp;This is a nine-month tenure track position expected to teach Associate of Applied Science Engineering Technology classes and laboratories, create instructional materials and laboratory experiences, promote Engineering Technology degree programs through local, regional, and national engagement, and participate in program assessment activities related to accreditation, certification, and grant parameters. The successful candidate will also participate in recruitment and advising activities, along with other departmental services. This position’s primary area of responsibility will be the Mechanical Technology discipline, with an emphasis in: mechanical power transmission, millwright principles, fluid power systems, industrial pumps and piping systems, and manual machine tool technology.
Documentation of skills related to Mechanical Technology must be provided in the candidate’s application submission. Successful applicants will also be required to teach other coursework outside the Mechanical Technology discipline to maintain an adequate teaching load. These secondary disciplines include: 1)&nbsp;Computer-aided drafting and design using one or more of the following software programs; AutoCAD, Inventor, Solidworks and/or REVIT 2) CNC programming and machining 3) Industrial electricity, including PLC and robotics programming; 4) Operations management, including lean manufacturing, quality assurance, project scheduling, and safety.

Job Summary
Reporting to the Coordinator of The Learning Center, the Tutor/Lab Assistant is responsible for providing tutoring services to Northeast State students.
Job Duties
<ul>
<li>Successfully complete all required tutor training and/or professional development.</li>
<li>Provide tutoring in content areas to students one-on-one or in small groups.</li>
<li>Help students implement successful learning strategies and study habits.</li>
<li>Assist in scheduling students for tutoring/other services.</li>
<li>Compile, maintain, and submit documentation of services provided.</li>
<li>Create/compile study and/or workshop materials.</li>
<li>Present workshops, as requested, online and/or on campus.</li>
<li>Promote and/or participate in collaborative efforts with other tutors and students.</li>
<li>Display responsible, courteous, and professional behavior in all duties and in all interactions with students and staff.</li>
<li>Support academic success and retention efforts and programs</li>
<li>Provide TLC information and general assistance to students, especially with technology issues, directing them to other appropriate offices on campus, if needed.</li>
<li>Communicate any issues, needs, or concerns to center coordinator.</li>
<li>Complete other assignments as directed by supervision.</li>

Minimum Qualifications

<li>Previous tutoring or customer service experience</li>
<li>Experience leading workshops or study groups</li>

      TLC Tutor (Pool)
    

This is a full-time, academic year position reporting to the Dean of Health Sciences and assumes EMS programmatic instructional activities at the Dyersburg Campus and/or the Jimmy Naifeh Center in Covington. Duties include working with the Director of EMS and EMS Clinical Coordinator for coordination of student classroom and clinical field experiences.
Duties and Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>To devote an equivalent of 37.5 hours of work per week.</li>
<li>Responsible for 30 credit hours of Teaching Load Equivalency (TLE) per academic year.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Create a positive environment for learning.</li>
<li>Develop, evaluate and revise relevant curriculum in cooperation with colleagues; assist in the selection materials for teaching classroom, lab and clinical activities.</li>
<li>Assist in preparation of schedules and in selection of electronic course materials.</li>
<li>Attend division, faculty, committee, and other institutional meetings to meet the needs of students and program management as well the welfare and support of the college.</li>
<li>Provide delivery of didactic material, demonstration of psychomotor skills and verification of assessment skill proficiency in the EMS Program.</li>
<li>Collaborate with EMS teaching teams and assist with setting up practice labs.</li>
<li>Assist with the recruitment, registration, advisement, retention and job placement of EMS students.</li>
<li>Maintain lab equipment and supplies necessary for demonstration.</li>
<li>Submit requests to Dean of Health Sciences and /or Director of EMS for needed lecture and lab equipment and supplies.</li>
<li>Maintain inventory of equipment, videos, software and supplies; provide an inventory to the Director of EMS at the beginning of each academic year and as needed thereafter.</li>
<li>Teach a range of ages from Dual Enrollment high school students to nontraditional, returning adults.</li>
<li>Recruit students from area high schools and from the community to make DSCC’s program viable and competitive.&nbsp; Propose changes to schedules to reflect student and community needs.</li>
<li>Flexible to teach evenings/weekends and/or off-campus courses as needed (requires the use of personal vehicle).</li>
<li>Practice a learning-centered educational philosophy and redesign courses to include research-based learning strategies including service learning opportunities, learning communities, critical thinking skills, co-operative learning, and reading across the curriculum.</li>
<li>Develop web-enhanced courses for delivery in technology-enhanced classrooms/labs (such as Zoom rooms), online or in a hybrid mode. EMS courses are not online; however, certain terminology and topics can be covered in online lecture videos that students can view prior to coming to class/lab.</li>
<li>Become certified in and fully use the course management system for all classes.</li>
<li>Work with colleagues to assess the effectiveness of courses, analyze the results, develop and implement improvement plans, and document this information each semester in the form prescribed by DSCC.</li>
<li>Participate in professional development which includes a required review of effective teaching practices and maintain membership in an appropriate regional, state and/or national organization related to teaching at DSCC.</li>
<li>Participate in commencement activities.</li>
<li>Assist with the identification, interviewing, selecting and mentoring of adjunct instructors.</li>
<li>Willingness to acquire software certifications as needed.</li>
<li>Actively communicate with colleagues and students using email, voice mail, text and other electronic means. Normally, responses are expected in no more than 48 hours.</li>
<li>Be trained and certified as a Master Advisor.</li>
<li>Assist with grant writing.</li>
<li>Participate in Advisory Committee meetings.</li>
<li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
Working Conditions:
<ul>
<li>Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.</li>
<li>Work involves light exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.</li>
<li>Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of heavy objects or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.</li>

Required Qualifications:

<li>Current licensure as an EMT-Paramedic in the State of Tennessee and in good standing without history of revocation, denial or suspension.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Current endorsement as a Board-approved trauma, cardiac, and pediatric provider.</li>
<li>Must have completed an EMS board-approved Instructor Coordinator course.</li>
</ul>
RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS:
<ul>
<li>Licensed emergency care experience of three to five (3-5) years practice.</li>
<li>Minimum of one to two (1-2) years teaching experience in an EMS Program.</li>
</ul>
Bachelor degree minimum pay is $42,087 annually with additional experience pay increases to a maximum of $50,500.
