The Bar Manager is responsible for managing the Bubba’s 33 beverage program and ensuring legendary bar service through beverage sales strategies, responsible alcohol service, best practices, beverage promotions and employee training. Accountable for all bar operations including the sale of liquor, beer, wine and soft drinks and management of bartenders on a day-to-day basis.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Accountable for driving beverage sales and guest satisfaction.
  • Responsible for providing or directing all beverage and bar training.
  • Inspires staff to deliver service at the pace and effectiveness to meet or exceed operational standards for legendary service and to improve sales
  • Manages compliance with Responsible Alcohol Service training requirements.
  • Teaches and coaches bartenders and servers how to execute beverage recipes and upsell, when and where appropriate and allowed, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages during a shift.
  • Supports and drives national promotions for applicable store as determined by the National Beverage Manager. Assists in new menu roll outs and training.
  • Conducts weekly bar inventory.
  • Manages liquor orders and controls liquor costs, as well as creates methods to reduce liquor costs and improve beverage mix.
  • Oversees/approves all Bar systems.
  • Develops, tracks, analyzes, and evaluates beverage promotions.
  • In conjunction with all management, enforces compliance with all employment policies in area of responsibility.
  • Understands, manages, and practices safe food handling procedures.
  • Ensures 100% table visitation during shifts in order to develop a deep understanding of the local customer base to develop successful sales-driving strategies and obtain real-time feedback for staff performance improvement.
  • Assists with the development of all (FOH and BOH) key hourly employees, assistant managers, and hourly employees.
  • In conjunction with the SM and ASM, where applicable, reviews applications and decides which FOH applicants to be interviewed; interviews those selections and provides recommendation on hiring and/or makes hiring decisions.
  • Responsible for performance management of FOH staff, in conjunction with SM or ASM (where applicable), including performance evaluations, coaching and discipline.
  • In conjunction with the SM and ASM, where applicable, cross-trains FOH employees and oversees their development.
  • Directs work for Bar and/or FOH employees including setting hours and weekly schedules and assigning tasks before, during and after open hours of the restaurant
